Reading Tablature. What is tablature you may ask? Well its just another form of reading music for the guitar. This is the generic way of how music is written on the Internet. So every time you wanna learn how to play that new song by Michael Jackson or Prince you have come to the right place to learn how. What the fuck? Im sure that's the question running in threw your head right now. Well calm down sugar pie im gonna. Ok lets start at the beginning and stop at the end. There are six strings in your guitar write? So there are six lines in tabs. Like the ones below. E_____________________________________________________________ B_____________________________________________________________ G_____________________________________________________________ D_____________________________________________________________ A_____________________________________________________________ E_____________________________________________________________ Now you may notice the letters next to each line. Well those are the names of each string. Now look at your guitar. You see the string that's closest to your ugly face? That's the E string. Now the one below it is the A String. The one below that is the D. After that comes the G. Then B then A, and then E again. Now its not really important right now to know the names of the string but you might want to learn sometime. To help me remember I think up a sentence using the letters. Every Asshole Does Good By Ethen. You see E A D G B E. Is your mind completely blown? Don't worry your gonna get it. Now if you haven't noticed yet the line on the bottom represents the top string on your guitar. That's the big thick one that's close to you ugly face remember. Also for the geniuses the E string. What the fuck? 2 Now I know this is kinda crazy at first. Your gonna get it though. Even though you have to be an idiot to have found your way onto this site. You have to have patience. Ok you ready for the next part? Look at your guitar you see the spaces in between those bar things. Those are called the frets. There are twenty different frets. The fret that's closest to the head of the guitar is the 1st fret. Then the one after that is the second. It rises up one by one until you get to the end. Pretty simple huh? Ok now here is the hard part. Look at the lines below again. E_______________________________6______________________________ B__________________________5___________________________________ G_____________________4________________________________________ D_______________3______________________________________________ A_________2____________________________________________________ E___1__________________________________________________________ You see the numbers in the lines. Each number represents the fret. So you see how the line on the bottom says 1? That means you put your finger on the first fret on the first string. The one that's closest to your face. Then just play that one string. Make sure your putting your finger close to the bar to get the best sound out of the guitar. Ok now see how the next line from the bottom says 2? Its on the A string. So go to the string that's the second closest to your ugly face. Ok now put your finger on the second fret. Now just play that String. Now only a complete genius wouldn't be confused right now. Remember the top string on your guitar is the bottom line on the screen. The bottom string on your guitar, the little one that's close to your genitals is the top line on the screen. Now sometimes you play a string with holding any frets. That's represented by a zero. So it would look like this. A_____________________________________________________________ E___0__________________________________________________________ So you play the string closest to your face again but don't put your finger on any frets. You should notice when you play a different fret going closer to the center of your guitar the note sounds higher and when you go back it sounds lower. Don't go to the next step with out getting that first. First Song Ever Now I tried to think of the most easiest song in the world. So I looked for the most now talent band in the world. Blink 182. This next song is Adams song. Here we go. Its different strings played at once making a sound together. There thousand upon thousands of different chords. Since this section is about tablature im gonna show you how to read chords. Lets go back to are little chart again. E_____________________________________________________________ B_1___________________________________________________________ G_____________________________________________________________ D_2___________________________________________________________ A_3___________________________________________________________ E_____________________________________________________________ Now you see how the numbers arent spaced apart like the ones before? That means you play them all at once. Place your fingers like the chart says and stroke all the way down and hit ever string. Dident that sound pretty. You just played a C. One of your basic chords. Go to the chord chart section if you wanna check out some more. Ok if you have got that lets keep going. If not keep trying tell you get it. These next type of chords are called bar chords. They pretty confusing at first. But hey every thing up tell now should have been confusing. Ok put your index finger on the fifth fret on every string. Now do the same thing with your ring finger on the seventh fret. Now play the first four strings. How do they sound? Like shit right? Well dont fret little darling? Get it Fret. (I should be shot). You will get it. Remember to press hard. Ok are you ready for another song? Now lets learn one more song then your ready for guitar playing on the internet.
